Spectracide^® Ant Shield^® Insect Killer Granules

It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
Keep children and pets off treated area until product has been watered in and lawn is dry.

• Do not make applications during rain. Apply this product directly to the lawn or garden area. Water treated area as directed on this label. Do not water to the point of runoff.
• Application is prohibited directly into sewers or drains, or to any area like a gutter where drainage to sewers, storm drains, water bodies, or aquatic habitat can occur. Do not allow the product to enter any drain during or after application.

In New York State, this product may not be applied to lawns within 100 ft of a coastal marsh, or stream that drains directly into a coastal marsh.
NOTE:

• Do not apply more than six (6) times per year per location.
• Do not apply within 24 hours of rain.
• Do not allow product to run off from target site.

1. Spectracide® Ant Shield® Insect Killer Granules kill ants* (except harvester and pharaoh), as well as fleas, mites, crickets**, earwigs, millipedes, roaches (German and American), Palmetto bugs, water bugs, sowbugs (pillbugs), silverfish, ticks (including ticks that may transmit Lyme Disease) and other pests.
2. Slide tab to open bag.
3. Pull sides apart to break seal.
4. Evenly sprinkle granules in a 3- to 5-foot wide band along the foundation of your home. Granules should be spaced like the ones pictured below. Use rate = 2 lb per 1,000 sq ft (an area 5’ x 200’) or 3.2 oz for each 100 sq ft.
   
5. Gently water treated areas.

*Ants (except harvester and pharaoh): Argentine, Florida carpenter, black carpenter, southern, field, Allegheny mound, cornfield, honey, pavement, red imported fire ant, nuisance, odorous, pyramid, black turf, white-footed, crazy, little black, ghost, thief, acrobat, citronella, big-headed, lawn.
**Crickets: House, common short-tailed, Indies short-tailed, Arizona, tropical, variable field, fall field, southeastern field, Texas field, spring field, northern wood, western striped, eastern striped, sand field, vocal field, southern wood.

1. Try to get even coverage throughout your "barrier band".
2. Reapply after hard rains to areas where downspouts empty.

1. Evenly sprinkle granules over and around each anthill.
2. Use 2 oz (1½ tsp) per anthill.
3. Gently water treated areas immediately after application.

Spectracide Ant Shield Insect Killer Granules kill ants*, armyworms (fall and yellow-striped), centipedes, European crane flies, crickets**, cutworms, earwigs, fleas, lawn moths (sod webworms), grasshoppers, Japanese beetles (adults), pillbugs, spittle bugs, mites, green June beetles, leafhoppers, millipedes, springtails and ticks (including ticks that may transmit Lyme Disease), and ladybeetles‡.
2. For application with bag, apply at the rate of 2 lb per 1,000 sq ft (an area 20' x 50') or 3.2 oz per 100 sq ft (an area 10' x 10').

Storage: Reclose bag tightly after each use. Store in a cool, dry area which is inaccessible to children and pets.
Disposal: If empty: Nonrefillable container. Do not reuse or refill this container. Offer for recycling, if available.
If partly filled: Call your local solid waste agency for disposal instructions. Never place unused product down any indoor or outdoor drain.

Hazards to Humans and Domestic Animals
CAUTION. Harmful if swallowed. Causes moderate eye irritation. Avoid contact with eyes or clothing. Wash hands thoroughly after handling and before eating or smoking. Food utensils such as spoons or measuring cups must not be used for food purposes after use in measuring pesticides.
First Aid
If Swallowed: Call a Poison Control Center or doctor immediately for treatment advice. Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting unless told to do so by a Poison Control Center or doctor. Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
If in Eyes: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present, after the first 5 minutes, then continue rinsing eye. Call a Poison Control Center or doctor for treatment advice.
Have the product container or label with you when calling a Poison Control Center, doctor, or going for treatment.
Environmental Hazards
This product is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. To protect the environment, do not allow pesticide to enter or run off into storm drains, drainage ditches, gutters or surface waters. Applying this product in calm weather when rain is not predicted for the next 24 hours will help to ensure that wind or rain does not blow or wash pesticide off the treatment area. Sweeping any product that lands on a driveway, sidewalk, or street, back onto the treated area of the lawn or garden will help to prevent runoff to water bodies or drainage systems.
