Japanese Beetles are eating my Petunias

I got the Spectracide Spray yesterday to kill the beetles that started eating holes in my petunias yesterday. I've noticed some fly away after I sprayed them. And there are more and more coming back. When will this end??? And I thought this was safe to spray on your flowers..My petunias look all wilted now! Are they going to die?? I don't know how to control these pests anymore, I never had a problem with beetles!! HELP. I can't stand out there all day and spray them, they are growing in number!!

Answer:
Yes, you can apply on petunias. For best results, you should apply Spectracide Japanese Beetle Insect Control Foliage Spray early and repeat applications as needed to maintain control. You won't get residual killing with this product. It sounds like you have a heavy infestation -- to avoid having to keep respraying, we recommend trying our Spectracide Bag-A-Bug Japanese Beetle Trap. It's amazingly effective and will give you very fast results. Good luck!

So why are the petunias I sprayed all wilted and look like they are dead?? And you're saying that the spray on the flowers won't kill the beetles if they come back? So it would be better to let them eat my flowers??

And I heard the bags are horrible, because they attract ALL the beetles from the whole neighborhood and most of them don't get in the bag, so I'd have even more Japanese beetles! I'm really afraid to do that! I'm ready to just toss all my flowers. The beetles were back today for about 2 hours, swarming, then they were gone. So that's the 2nd time they came. I guess I'll expect them back tomorrow.

Answer:
Right, this is a contact insecticide designed to kill your infestation upon treatment. It's fine to apply on petunias specifically. We'd be happy to talk it over with you by e-mail -- you will be hearing from us soon.

No, it should not be applied to edibles. For Japanese beetle protection around fruits and vegetables, try our Spectracide Bag-A-Bug Japanese Beetle Trap -- it will last the entire beetle season. Learn more here: http://www.spectracide.com/~/media/...

Answer:
Yes. If you let us know what types of vegetables you sprayed, we can let you know the pre-harvest interval (the amount of time you need to wait between spraying and eating).
