Answer:
You should keep Spectracide Fire Ant Killer Yard Protection Granules stored out of the reach of children and pets. You and your pets should stay off the treated area until the granules have been watered in and your lawn is dry, but then you and your pets can use the lawn as usual. The granules are toxic to fish, however.

is this broadcast spread?

I have fireant mounds all over my yard and in my flower beds. No product I have ever used (homemade or over the counter) has EVER eliminated my fireant problem. What is the answer?

Answer:
Yes, you should use a spreader to broadcast the granules over your lawn. You will start to see results minutes after using this product and watering in as directed on the label. It will also help limit the formation of new mounds. You will most likely want to apply at the higher use rate, and you can apply up to three times per year at that rate. Good luck! Please keep us updated.

My concern is that mowing just before treatment may disturb the ant beds and mowing after will blow the granules away from the treated area.

Answer:
Either way. Mowing after application is not likely to reduce effectiveness as long as you water in as directed, but if your grass is tall, mowing before will help ensure sure the grass height does not prevent good coverage by your spreader.
