Yes, you can use Spectracide Fire Ant Killer Mound Destroyer Granules around water pump houses. This product will not get into the piping or travel into the ground to water level.

We replaced that product with Spectracide Fire Ant Killer Yard Protection Granules for this year. It's a broadcast granule, as well, and starts to kill fire ants in minutes. Please give it a try -- we think you'll be happy with the results!

For Spectracide Triazicide Insect Killer Once & Done Granules, you should set it to 2.5 at the 0.8 lb rate. The fire ant killer granules should just be poured over fire ant mounds as directed on the label, however.

Also i am wondering if it is now safe for my dogs to cross the treated areas. it was applied more than 12 hours ago but is still visible

You will still see the granules for a few days. The chemical on the granule was released when it was watered. You can let your pets back into the area once the area has dried.
